BAM Film Productions to film Ol' Man's Rendezvous

Thanks to Elizabeth Laden of The Island Park News for this news release.

ISLAND PARK — BAM Film Productions will be in town this weekend filming the 11th annual Ol’ Men’s Rendezvous, an all-men’s cross-country snowmobile competition. The Rendezvous is set for Saturday, Feb. 26 on snowmobile trails in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. And, a Vintage 120+ Flat Track event will take place during the Rendezvous.
The event is in memory of the late Rob Kennedy, and the headquarters is in the Timber’s Edge restaurant west of Hwy. 20 at Village Crossroads, the intersection just south of Henry’s Lake Flat.
Blake Allen, BAM's Executive Producer, will run the Rendezvous with locals Dennis Kennedy and Kenny Strandberg — both veteran Rendezvous participants. Allen's race experience and other footage obtained this weekend will most certainly become part of a BAM PowerSport Adventures production. These are aired on Altitude Sports and Entertainment Network and Pursuit Channel. BAM also produces action DVD's to sell to the public.
In the Rendezvous, three-man teams compete in one of three classes: Open Class – any age, 60-mile course; 150 Class – ages add up to 150 – 189, 40-mile distance; 190 Class – ages add up to 190 +, 40- mile distance.
Pre-register for the Rendezvous at the pre-race party, 6 – 8 pm Friday, Feb. 25 at Timber’s Edge. Race day registration is at Timber’s Edge from 8 – 9:30 am, and the drivers meeting is at 10 am. Race time is 11 am sharp. The post race party is at 2 p.m. at Timber’s Edge and includes a charity raffle for Special Olympics - Idaho and CW Hog, awards, and a meal.
The Rendezbous entry fee is $150 per team, and 70 percent of the fees are returned to winners. Riders are eligible to enter an open class, single rider event to win even more money, including $500 donated to the purse by Hungry Bear Towing.
The 120+ Vintage Flat Track event is open to little kids and adults and has three classes.
The Rendezvous is sponsored by Hungry Bear Market & Towing, Mountain Mayhem, Timber’s Edge, Island Park News, Bank of Idaho, Island Park Lodge, Island Park Village Resort, Robin’s Roost, Sawtelle MT. Resort, Outback Realty, Henry's Fork Landing, and Henry’s Lake Station.
